Makiki District Park People’s Open Market

Mondays, 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. in the Ke’eaumoku parking lot (closed City holidays).  This is part of the City’s People’s Open Market Program.

Resources for Senior Citizens

The Senior Information and Assistance Handbook (PDF) is a guide to programs and services for elders in the City and County of Honolulu. The Handbook categorizes and lists hundreds of public and private resources in the community that provide services to benefit older adults and family caregivers. Included are resources relating to finances, transportation, family support respite, and end-of life issues. The Handbook in its online form is a 49-page PDF document, and a print copy of the Handbook is also available at no cost from any branch of American Savings Bank.

The Handbook is published by the City & County’s Elderly Affairs Division (Department of Community Services), with financial support from American Savings Bank.

Neighborhood Board for Makiki/Lower Punchbowl/Tantalus

The Makiki/Lower Punchbowl/Tantalus Neighborhood Board (Neighborhood Board #10) meets each month to gather information concerning police and fire protection, transportation and road safety, dangerous conditions in our neighborhood, and zoning and development matters. The Board convenes at 7:00 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month in the Arts and Crafts Room of Makiki District Park. The public is welcome to attend meetings.
