Our poor park and library!
Yesterday, Makiki Community Library’s board was notified that someone cut the main power line to the Makiki District Park complex, where we are located, on Friday evening. According to park staff, HECO says it will be one month before they can get the power back on because they need to order parts. The entire Makiki District Park complex is down, including the parking lots.
With that in mind, the Makiki Community Library will be closed effective today through the end of December. The book sale scheduled for this weekend is also cancelled. We plan to re-open and resume normal operations and hours on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2 pm.
Come visit us at 1527 Keeaumoku St. during our normal hours after we reopen:
- Wednesdays — 2 pm to 6 pm
- Saturdays — noon to 4 pm
- Sundays — noon to 4 pm
